Updates on the US election of 2024: Biden withdraws to "unite nation," supporting Harris

This is what took place today.
The main developments from Biden's speech are as follows:

Speaking from the Oval Office, Biden explained that he had decided to get out of the presidential campaign for the sake of the nation, but he did not go into detail about what had changed his mind.
In addition to urging voters to uphold democracy, Biden said that the US was at a "inflexion point" and that it was time to "pass the torch" to newer voices.
Throughout the address, Trump was mentioned, but not by name. At a North Carolina campaign event, the Republican candidate launched an attack on Biden and Harris.
The speech is being given at a time when Vice President Harris is expected to formally announce as the party's nominee next month, and enthusiasm for her has grown among Democrats.

Trump derides Biden speech

The former president and Republican presidential candidate weighed in on his Truth Social account.

He called Biden’s speech ‘barely understandable, and sooo bad!’here
